Get Ready For The PMP Exam
The problem with most PMP exam prep books is that they assume way too much. They assume that you know all of the PMI-isms, the vocabulary, and the concepts. The reality is, you can be a great project manager and not be trained in the PMI methods or the PMI vocabulary. That doesn’t mean that you won’t gain a lot by learning the lingo–on the contrary, it may be what gets you your next pay raise and helps improve your image in the sight of management and other stake holders. Learning the specific PMI vocabulary could improve your project management significantly. So what you need is a study guide that starts with the foundation and really helps you learn the PMI-isms and vocabulary. The PMP Certification For Dummies by Peter Nathan and Gerald Everett Jones can really do that for you. They start with the foundation and build slowly on that. They don’t assume you already know the vernacular or any of the PMI based vocabulary, until they teach it to you. The text is written in understandable English and flows easily with examples and highlighted concepts. I think it is one of the best beginning texts for learning project management based on the PMI principles. It even comes with a 300 question PMP sample exam CD! You can’t get sample tests for the low cost of this text and the example exam CD together. This is your value leader in PMP Exam certification training. It builds on the fundamentals better than any other text, and it has a free sample exam CD. I would go with the PMP for Dummies text in a heartbeat.

Great information! I’ve been looking for something like this for a while now. Thanks!
